Arrival Hanoi

Welcome to Vietnam! You will be met and greeted at the airport, before heading off to check into your accommodation.

That evening you will enjoy a welcome meal and a trip to the famous Old Quarter, the perfect way to meet your new friends and immerse yourself in Vietnamese youth culture.

Hanoi Like A Local

Hanoi is a great city to explore on foot, although the traffic is crazy you can see so much more from ground level. Today kick off with a full-day walking tour of the city and explore Hanoi like a local! Later we will stroll back to the Old Quarter, stop along the train tracks where locals still live and sample some of the best street food Asia has to offer.

By the end of the day, you will have a feel for this awesome city.

Hanoi – Mu Waterfall

We depart Hanoi for Ngoc Luong Natural Reserve to get to our community. This scenic drive takes around 4 hrs. Along the way, we will pass through fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. We will reach Mu Waterfall by lunchtime. Have fun learning about the truly authentic Vietnamese lifestyle with the friendliest people from the mountains. Throw yourself into the crystal clear water at the natural dam or the stunning waterfall near our homestay!

Waterfall Chasing and Trekking

Starting from our village, you will head towards Pu Luong Mountain and forests, where you will be doing challenging trekking chasing a wild jungle and waterfall. Trek through low valleys crossing some local villages and have a picnic lunch along the way. Throughout the entire day, you will see beautiful views of the valley with typical features of Vietnam lowland rain-forests.

Mu Village – Hanoi

Have an early breakfast and get a walk down to the center of the village, where you will see local kids at their school or patients at the local clinic – where you can help out the community a bit. After lunch, we come back to Hanoi.

Once you get to Hanoi, you will be transferred to the bus office where you will head to the amazing area top north of Vietnam – Ha Giang.

Ha Giang – Quan Ba trekking

Today you will begin your trekking adventure by setting out from the homestay in the morning and trekking for about 6 to 8 hours to the village of Lung Vai. Along this trek, you’ll get to take in the beauty of the terraced rice paddies, majestic mountains, and serene palm-tree forests.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch amidst nature before continuing to the remote village of Khuoi My. En route, there will be many farmers working in the fields, and if we have the time you can even join in for some farm work if you so desire.

Finally, we move on to Ban Tha Village, where our driver will pick you up and drive you to Nam Dam, where you can enjoy a home-cooked local meal and spend the night in a homestay of a Dzao family.

Quan Ba – Dong Van

Your journey to Dong Van will be filled with spectacular landscapes in the form of a series of long passes.

You will stop for lunch in the mountain town of Dong Van, before heading out on a 3.5-hour trek to the highest mountain in Dong Van where you can enjoy some truly breath-taking panoramic views. We’ll also visit Hmong, Lo Lo, and Giay ethnic villages in this incredible, untouched frontier region.

Dong Van – Meo Vac

You will get to explore Dong Van Old Quarter, before making the trek up to Pu Lo fortress which was built in 1890 and evacuated in 1945. From here you can enjoy spectacular views of the entire region, before climbing 8 km to the top of Ma Pi Leng Pass, through a gigantic maze of limestone peaks, stone forests, and canyons before descending into the valley of Meo Vac.

Meo Vac – Ha Giang – Hanoi

On the final day of the tour, we’ll take you along the road less traveled to get back to Ha Giang. On this route, you’ll follow the rivers as it snakes from pass to pass through the hills of Du Gia village. The locals here are likely to be fascinated by your presence, as the area sees very few foreign visitors, so it’s a great time to interact with the locals and learn about their culture.

Departure

This is your final day and we will be arranging a drop off at the international airport for you to get your flights home or to your next destination.
